2018-2019 Season
The nine major productions in Spotlight’s 2018-2019 Season made a higher total than usual, not counting workshops and camp shows.
The most unique programming of the year was the pairing of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown with Dog Sees God. The family musical about the Peanuts gang and the less-official satirical drama about the same characters as lost teenagers were staged off and on for the same three weekends, on the same stage with changeable sets. The season also featured a state premiere with Beat Bugs, and marked the end of Spotlight’s long tradition of performing The Best Christmas Pageant Ever for the holidays.
Spotlight performers and artists won 25 National Youth Arts Awards from among 82 nominations for the 2018-2019 season, as well as 12 “Zonis” from among 58 nominations for ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence.
